Contacting Us
Call (651) 401-2195 and you'll reach the shop, not a national call center that routes jobs to whoever's closest. We're based at 2600 Eagan Woods Dr, Eagan, MN 55121, and that's where the trucks start their day before heading out across the area. Most of the houses we work on went up between 1956 and 2004, with the bulk of the stock dating to the 1960s and 70s spread across 37 named areas in and around Eagan - which means a lot of original hardware, replaced openers from different decades, and doors that don't match the trim pieces they came with anymore.
If you leave a voicemail, say what the door is doing (won't open, makes a grinding noise, one side hangs low) and whether you can get the car out. That tells us what to bring. We also cover towns within easy driving range - Mendota Heights, Inver Grove Heights, West St. Paul, Richfield, South St. Paul, and farther out to places like Hastings and New Hope - so if you're calling from one of those, say so and we'll plan the route.
We don't have an emergency surcharge line to quote you over the phone, because pricing depends on what's actually wrong once we're looking at the spring or track in person.
What Happens After You Call
Once we know the symptom, we figure out whether it's a same-visit fix or a parts-order job
A broken torsion spring on a double door, a snapped cable, or a opener board that's died are usually one trip. Something tied to an older track system or a non-standard panel size - more common in the 1960s-70s stock that makes up most of the area's housing - sometimes means we have to order a part before we can finish.
We work through Minnesota's cold winters
Which means door seals, weatherstripping, and opener sensors all take more abuse here than in a milder climate band. If your door is icing shut or the opener is skipping in cold weather, that's a pattern we see and plan the visit around, not a mystery we're diagnosing from scratch.
We'll tell you on site what the repair involves before any work starts
And if the fix is more than the door is worth - which happens more on doors from the earlier end of that 1956 build range - we'll say that plainly instead of running up a bill on a door that should probably be replaced.
What We Do Not Take On
We don't do new construction installs as part of a builder's framing crew, and we don't carry every obsolete panel style that shipped on a 1973-era door - median build year for houses in this area, and parts for doors that old sometimes just aren't made anymore. When that's the case, we'll say so instead of guessing with a mismatched part that won't hold up.
We also don't handle gate openers, commercial dock doors, or fence automation. If your issue turns out to be structural - a header that's sagging or a frame that's pulled away from the house - that's carpentry work outside what we do, and we'll tell you to call someone who frames for a living rather than take the job anyway.
We're a garage door repair and opener company, not a general contractor, and being upfront about that is part of how we keep from overpromising on a job we shouldn't be doing.
